PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
James Wright has over 20 years of professional experience as a project
manager and architect for large-scale projects involving new construction
and renovation for institutional and private sector clientele. His skills
in programming, client relations, design, team coordination, supervision
and contract administration make him a central person in the delivery
process of our projects. As a senior associate his responsibilities include
the role of senior project manager for all projects in the office, overseeing
our project schedules, budgets and quality-assurance program.
Mr. Wright’s extensive project experience includes a number of renovation
assignments for educational and cultural institutions. He currently manages
our work on the reconstruction of the Vandenberg Clock Tower at the SUNY
New Paltz campus. Previously he led our design team on the successful
$6 million rehabilitation of the Pittsburgh Building for the Lally School
of Management at RPI, which brought the CM bid in under budget with a
design-to-completion schedule of 21 months.
Mr. Wright’s other renovation work at LHPA includes the conversion
of an existing garage into a luxury condominium comple in Manhattan’s
West Village as well as various restoration assignments for the landmarked
Plaza Hotel. Several years ago he led our design team for the adaptive
reuse of an old Con Ed substation in Brooklyn into the flagship building
for New York City's Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services.
At LHPA Mr. Wright is responsible for overseeing the firm’s work
for other market sectors as well. Most recently he has served as project
manager for our rehabilitation of several subway stations for the NYC
Metropolitan Transit Authority, as well as the conversion of an existing
garage in Manhattan’s West Village into a luxury condominium complex
at 132 Perry Street.
Prior to joining Lee Harris Pomeroy Architects, Mr. Wright was project
manager at Herbert Beckhard Frank Richlan and Associates for the 100,000
square-foot master plan and design of a classroom/library addition to
the NYS School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University.
