Here is an article.
I've never seen the TWA Terminal at JFK. But that article brought it to my attention. It's inSANE! It looks like a set from a science fiction movie in the 70's (or, more specifically, the Moloko Bar in Clockwork Orange).
Sadly, since TWA shut down, the terminal has been closed to the public for two years. OH MAN! I want to break in and blow the dust off all those awesome white curves....

...THEN GRIND ON THEM WITH MY PHAT ROLLERBLADES!! 540 INDY NOSEBONE!! PHAT!!!!

Posted by: wolpa at September 22, 2004 08:53 AMI love the design of this thing and couldn't believe it was an airplane terminal. It looks more like a spaceport from Star Wars. This series reminded me of how America has the profound ability to create something enourmous and then completely waste it. I think of all of the stadiums which are built, only to have it torn down or replaced by an even bigger and better statium. Where does all this wasted money go?
Posted by: Aaron Einfeld at September 28, 2004 11:18 AMis it really wasted money? the venues are built, and after years they costs of building it is gone from the fans and supporters buying tickets over the years. the stadiums are buge, but offer a level of entertainment that can not be matched by simply watching it on TV. I would think alot of stadiums are rebuilt because of their structural age. after a while, a building has to need some repairs and after repairing a stadium seems quite difficult to me.
