Eadweard Muybridge in 3D Design the other day, thinking about how to model figures based on how they move. 3D Design isn't part of the Evidence fold, but Muybridge's images are so fun to look at I figured I'd post some anyway.

I love these, I feel that the simplicity or the still imagery of photography is captured yet, movement and so much more are entrapped in these pictures. I love black and white it brings me into the picture, as if its my own shadow. The last of these is my favorite, I don't know why.

These pictures have captured the beauty of movement through space. Every movement becomes that much more precious when viewed in a frame like this!

I think that it is especially interesting to note how light changes in each of the shots. It is an exploration of motion and of form in a way as well, but how light is filtered through the scenes is especially neat. Of course, the development of the photograph was contemporary with the Impressionist movement in which the painters were also very concerned with light and also color. The photos are in black and white, of course, but the shifting shadows and the clarity in the shots is eye-catching.
