dan
thanks for your research
it may be the case that dali made a painting of this image as well as the prints
also you can use idfferent color inks foe each stone
so the edition can vary in color
i think the 2nd two images that you posted are the same but vary in image quality
my guess is that the first one is a painting
i am excited about this embossing plate
and i will race down to the gallery to look more closely
i hadn't noticed the embossing at all until you pointed it out today
way to be an active seer
At first i thought the second two were actually the same painting but the middle one came from a bigger picture that i had to reduce in size. THe reason i think they are two different paintings is that the middle one doesn't have that weird female face sticking her tongue out(the bottom one and the one in our gallery do) and i specifically remember that in the one in our gallery because of it makes NO sense. I could think of NO reason why it was there at ALL! Also one tile is red and another is yellow on the right side. I could be wrong...
Dali is just one of my most hated/loved artists because there is SO much packed into each painting! i was Extremely excited when i first walked in today and say that painting! i had no idea he was one of the featured artists! I still don't know whether or not i like his art but it always leaves me with lots to think about:)
